Chattanooga Privacy Tree Installation

Creating a Privacy Screen

Ray Lawns was contacted by this family to come up with a Chattanooga privacy tree installation landscape design that could add privacy to their sunny yard.
Brian decided to use Green Giant Arborvitae Trees along the fence line to achieve this task. These trees are a great choice because they'll stay green year round, are drought, wind, and deer resistant, and quickly grow to get huge. These low maintenance trees won’t need to be pruned and are hardy in cold temperatures.

Preparing to Plant

Just getting started.

Placing the Green Giant Arborvitae Trees. They need plenty of room to grow.

We measured between the trees to keep them spaced evenly.

We used a Dingo with an auger attachment to drill the holes for each plant.

Once the hole was drilled, we loosened up the dirt to make room for this #15 size Green Giant Arborvitae.

We added in topsoil to give the plant the best chance of thriving.

Planting the Trees

The next step was to add the mulch around the trees. This will increase the growth rate of the tree by holding in moisture.

This Green Giant Arborvitae will grow rapidly, reaching up to 50 feet tall and 5 feet wide.

The trees will grow together to create a beautiful, thick privacy screen for this family.

Here, we're finally planting the last tree. It's important to plant Green Giant Arborvitae 5-6 feet apart if you want to create a privacy screen since they can get 5 feet wide.

Cleaning up after a hard day of work. The team was successful at getting the trees perfectly lined up.

These trees will stay lush and green year round. They are better than a fence even because you won't have upkeep, and they're great for the environment.
